33. Morgon Les Corcelettes, Louis Latour

Beaujolais, Burgundy, France 2013/14
  • £30.00
Morgon is the most dense and long lived Cru of Beaujolais. Full-bodied, firm and able to age. (Walter Hicks) The Gamay grape, like its cousin Pinot Noir, is thinner skinned, and both are drinkable sooner than wines made from grapes with more tannin such as Cabernet Sauvignon. No critic reports to quote, but I and the Falcon wine committee, loved its depth and complexity – the exact opposite of the one-dimensional Nouveau Beaujolais with its quaffing-wine reputation. Great value. (Rupert Brendon) (D) 13% vol
